The potato in the salt water got lighter. The water in the potato had the water absorbed out of it. So now it weighs lighter. Cornstarch was placed in the plastic tube, and the tube was placed in iodine. The iodine moved into the tube changing the cornstarch to blue. Iodine is an indicator for cornstarch. This is why that occurred.
